Ich habe von Los Angeles eine Besprechung Ihrer Konzert-Feier eingeschickt bekommen. 2 Habe daraus leider entnommen, daß Sie abwesend waren. Wie verständlich daß Sie keine Briefschreibelust u. Zeit haben. Sie nehmen doch meine Sentimentalität meines letzten u. dieses Briefes, sicherlich nicht übel. Ich möchte nur die wenigen Fäden die mi tch mit wWenigen verbinden nicht reißen lassen! Bitte vielleicht kann ich ein paar Zeilen über Ihr Befinden bekommen??!! Ich habe den Abdruck einer Rede von Herrn Furtwängler in Frankfurt bekommen. Wohl so kindisch, wie ich es ihm nie zugetraut hätte. Auch er hat nur das Räuspern u. Spucken abgekuckt! Seien Sie u. Ihre Lieben in treuer Freundschaft begrüßt! I have received, by post from Los Angeles, a review of your celebration concert. 2 I was sad to learn from it that you were not present. How understandable that you have had no appetite or time for letter writing. I feel quite sure you won't think badly of the sentimentality of my last letter and this one. I just don't want to break the few links that I have with a few people! Please can I perhaps have a line or two on the state of your health??!! I have received a copy of a speech made by Mr. Furtwängler in Frankfurt. So very childish – I would never have thought him capable of such. Also, he has copied only the hawking and spitting!
