Career Summary
Hermann Wunsch, born in the Rhineland, studied at the conservatories of Krefeld, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. He subsequently worked as director of music, teacher, and organist in Switzerland, served during World War I on the eastern front, and later returned to the Berlin Hochschule in 1945 as a professor.
Wunsch and Schenker
In January 1924, Schenker awarded him one of the stipends for impecunious musicians created in her will by Sofie Deutsch. There was no apparent contact between the two men before that time.

Two letters from Wunsch to Schenker are preserved as OJ 15/31 (1924) together with a clipping of an article on Wunsch.
