German publisher, proprietor of the J. G. Cotta'sche Buchhandlung Nachfolger (Successor(s) to J. G. Cotta's Book Dealership) from 1911 to his death in 1945.
The son of Adolf von Kröner, he became an employee of his father's company, J. G. Cotta'sche Buchhandlung Nachfolger in 1897, a partner in 1907 (see OJ 9/31, [15]), and sole proprietor after his father's death in 1911. Robert changed the firm to a public company in 1939. The firm's buildings were destroyed in 1943. Robert died in 1945; his son Adolf Robert Kröner, having served during World War II, became managing director in 1948.
