Bad Wörishafen, 80 km (50 miles) west of Munich, is known for its water-cure (hydrotherapy), devised by Sebastian Kneipp in the late 19th century. Bad Wörishofen and the Schenker circle Anthony van Hoboken took the cure at the sanatorium there between November 1932 and February 1933, details of which emerge in Hoboken's correspondence of the time with Schenker and others in the circle.
